Are you having problems jogging large format sheets . . . Colter & Peterson has the solution.
Is your cutter operator working extra hard to load sheets . . . Colter & Peterson has the solution.
The BASA . . . The world’s most automated jogging and loading system is the solution . . . offered by Colter & Peterson exclusively.
At our most recent installation at N.E.I. (Clifton, NJ) they have seen a dramatic increase in productivity. At the 47 other installations worldwide productivity has increased from 65 to 160 percent on runs of 100,000 sheets or more.
The BASA comes in size 3, 6, 7, 8, and 10 formats and can handle material as thin as labels stock and as heavy as cardboard. Sheet sizes vary from as small as 17” x 24” to as large as 61” x 80”, based upon the model chosen.
After loading and aligning the sheets in the lifting device, the operator sets his parameters for the specific job to be processed.
As the sheets are gripped and pulled through a set of rollers, air is injected between the sheets to help separate the stock before it is placed on the elevated jogging table. Once the correct quantity of sheets has been reached, the sheets are jogged and then pressed using an air removal roller. The sheets are then transported to an intermediate table via a gripper system.
The sheets sit on the intermediate table to await the next cutting sequence. If the cutter is ready, they can be brought directly to the rear table to be cut. While all this is being done the BASA will begin to process the next lift.
After the stock has been cut the operator uses a Baumann automatic unloader to restack the cut material. All this is done with one operator.
Colter & Peterson has a number of options available to enhance the performance of the BASA. These include chipboard insertion, rotary sheet counting, air board unloading, APS turning as well as automatic unloading.
If increased productivity is what you are looking for together with a more ergonomic environment then the BASA system is your answer. We would be pleased to discuss this system with you. Less automated systems can also be designed to increase productivity and the bottom line.
