In case you weren’t able to join us for Drupa 2008 at the Dusseldorf Trade Fair Center in Dusseldorf, Germany, here are some highlights from the Colter & Peterson perspective:
Colter & Peterson, the largest independent distributor of paper cutters and peripheral paper handling equipment in North America, introduced its PRISM–HPM precision paper cutters at the number one trade fair for the print and media industry.
This line of paper cutters, which offers many state-of-the-art features including a 10” color touch screen system, was well-received by the world market and new agencies have been established to market the product on a global scale.
The C&P Saber 137 paper cutter was also displayed as part of a complete cutting system.

C&P Peripherals Introduced
The biggest news for the company was the introduction of the C&P Peripheral line of paper handling equipment which is made exclusively for C&P by Knorr Systemes in Germany.
Along with well-known standard components such as lifts, joggers and unloaders, other new innovations were also shown. These included a pressing unit that can be placed between a jogger and a cutter that allows the pile to be compressed to completely remove the air between the sheets. It’s ideal for sensitive work that requires the utmost in accurate cutting.
Automatic Restacking System
Another innovation turning heads at Drupa was a new automatic restacking system that’s capable of taking multiple stacks from a press, guillotine cutter, three-knife trimmer, binder, stitcher or folder and automatically restacking the piles on a pallet.
The restacking system can receive single or multiple stacks. It aligns and positions the stacks then transfers them to an automatic restacker. The system allows product to be delivered, aligned and restacked with only one operator at the rate of up to 800 double stacks per hour. The unit sets up quickly with programmable or manual adjustments.
C&P will be showing the new C&P Peripheral products at Graph Expo later this year.
